ABOUT THIS SEARCH

Top Notch Finders holds an exclusive, strictly confidential retained search for a VP / Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs at a well-established organization in the US semiconductor industry. To protect our client and every candidate, we disclose the company’s identity and the location of its operations only to qualified candidates under a confidentiality agreement. In addition, Top Notch Finders receives and manages every inquiry and application directly.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The VP / Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs builds and executes federal and state government-affairs strategy. In addition, this executive represents the company before Congress and executive agencies. As a result, the role also owns export-control, tariff, and CHIPS-related compliance issues.

MARKET CONTEXT

Because export controls are tightening and tariffs are volatile, government-affairs fluency has become a near-mandatory adjunct to technical and operating leadership. CHIPS Act appropriations add to that pressure. As a result, senior hires in this space accelerated across the industry through 2025 and 2026.

For a deeper look at how we evaluate and hire senior leaders in this industry, read our The 2026 San Diego Semiconductor Executive Search Hiring Guide. It explains our approach to executive search for policy, regulatory, and operating leadership roles.
