THE OPPORTUNITY

The Country Manager / Managing Director holds full P&L responsibility for a multinational pharmaceutical or medtech company’s Mexico operations, serving as the primary bridge between global corporate strategy and local regulatory, commercial, and labor realities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own full P&L responsibility for all Mexico operations.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Mexican regulatory bodies (COFEPRIS) and government stakeholders.
  • Align local operational and commercial strategy with global corporate objectives.
  • Lead and develop the local leadership team across commercial, operations, and regulatory functions.
  • Navigate local labor market realities, including workforce informality and the 2026 workweek reform.
  • Represent the company in industry associations and government relations matters.
  • Report regularly to global headquarters on financial performance, market conditions, and strategic priorities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Full P&L ownership experience in a multinational corporate structure.
  • Deep understanding of Mexican regulatory (COFEPRIS), labor, and market dynamics.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required; additional languages a plus for global HQ alignment.
  • MBA or an equivalent advanced degree preferred.
